EXHIBITION CONTINUES UNTIL 8TH AUGUST

The exhibition has paintings by railway artists who create evocative images of the railways of the past and these are combined with the unseen photographs by the late Trevor Grimshaw.

Trevor photographed the rusting and abandoned trains, at the time when all steam trains were retired from service. Many of the trains were taken to be scrapped at Barry Island in Wales and it was here that Trevor found his inspiration for a nostalgic series of images.

The paintings in the exhibition are by  local railway painter, Stephen Warnes, who lives in Brampton, as well as works by railway artists, Stephen Bainbridge and John Harrison.

Most of the works in the show are for sale, including some cards and prints.  We can order prints from the photographic exhibition online via a dedicated website.

This exhibition is a must for railway enthusiasts and photographers as well as those who are interested in the nostalgic past of steam and diesel engines.
