About the Gallery

The Gallery presents a changing programme of exhibitions. Work is selected by the owners to produce shows that reflect a wide cross section of artists and styles. Artists are local, national and international. Exhibitions include painting, sculpture, ceramics and textiles. These may be one man shows or group shows, united by a theme which inspires the work.

The gallery also has a changing collection of work by artists who have become popular exhibitors at Upfront.

During mid January until early March, the Gallery stages the “Upfront Open Exhibition”. Over 100 artists, from Cumbria and beyond submit work that is selected for the exhibition by a panel of judges.

The on-line application form. is available for artists from October of the previous year.
