20th Upfront Artists Open Exhibition
Artist Collection Up-Date
As of Wednesday 18th March Upfront Gallery closed following the government guidelines, to try and keep us all safe and slow down this dreadful virus.
The Upfront Open Exhibition will remain on the walls until we are able to re-open. If any artists would still prefer to collect their work, please let us know and we will make this possible.
All artist payments will be made over the next two weeks, if not sooner.
Best wishes, good luck and good health to everyone. We look forward to seeing you when we are through this and out the other side.
2020 UPFRONT ARTISTS OPEN EXHIBITION
28th January – 22nd March
The annual Upfront Open Exhibition is now in its 19th year. The purpose of the show is to exhibit a wealth and wide cross section of artistic talent. The panel of judges choose an eclectic mix of work in various media and styles, both 2D and 3D.
The exhibition displays around 100 selected works in our various gallery spaces.
The “Open Exhibition” is totally self-funded. Entry fees create a budget to stage and advertise the exhibition, to hold a preview evening and to award cash prizes.
There will be a First Prize of £1,000 plus other prize categories to be decided by the judges, according to the number of entries and the cross section of work submitted.
The prize winners for 2020 are:
1st Prize. Brian Shields, “Strong & Rising (The Pool is the Past)” – acrylic on canvas, part mirrored glass.
Joint 2nd Prize. Kate Bentley, “Boudoir” – watercolour, egg tempera. Sylvia Macro, “Roof of England” – coloured clay.
3rd Prize. Andrew Harrison, “Scotch on the Rocks” – acrylic on board with airbrush.
