Will Pound’s critically-acclaimed debut album ‘A Cut Above’ (2013) featured a plethora of the most well-respected musicians from the folk and session -music worlds, three of whom came together to form "The Will Pound Band".
Performing a mixture of traditional, and increasingly more original compositions, the band draws influences from their varied musical backgrounds to create a contemporary folk sound with a progressive and cinematic edge. The band has featured extensively on local, national and international radio shows, as well as on BBC Breakfast TV in February2014.Regarded by many as one of the world’s best Harmonica players, twice BBC Folk Award nominated, Will Pound has had his pick of musicians to form his group. Alongside him play Henry Webster (fiddle), Chris Sarjeant (guitar) and John Parker (double bass, mouth percussion), all of whom have great reputations in their own rights. Sarjeant is an acclaimed guitarist and arranger/ singer of traditional and original songs, Parker is one half of chart-topping Nizlopi (JCB Song, 2005) and Webster is an award-winning fiddle soloist, and pioneer in his use of electronics with fiddle.
