The 62 Group is an artist led organisation. We aim to incorporate and challenge the boundaries of textile practice through an ambitious and innovative annual programme of exhibitions.

Since its establishment in 1962 some of the most highly regarded British textile artists have been members of the 62 Group. The membership is now international and is achieved through selection.

The group represents a wide range of textile disciplines including tapestry, embroidery, feltmaking, print, constructed and three-dimensional approaches.

Exhibitors
Jane Veitch studied History of Art (MAHons) at Edinburgh, married and established a family before studying Painting and Drawing through the Open College of the Arts. Since 1999 she has established herself as a painter of wild and marginal places both in Northumberland where she lives and also further afield in Northern England and Scotland. Jane uses a variety of painting and drawing media both out of doors and in the studio. Her practice usually consists of concentrated working expeditions where she encounters and absorbs the experience of place, of wilderness and of being a part of the natural world. This is followed by a more prolonged and meditative time in the studio where a process of distillation takes place using both memory and collected material.
